Full course description
Whether you're considering, implementing, or reviewing a 1:1 program at your school, you'll benefit from reviewing case studies of several successful 1:1 initiatives across the United States.
You'll encounter Dr. Darryl Adams' presidentially lauded and sweeping 1:1 plan in Coachella Valley School District—one of the nation's poorest—in California. You'll learn how Albemarle County Public Schools in Virginia used innovation to contend with poverty and geographic obstacles to universal access. You'll discover how Richland County School District Two in South Carolina combined BYOD, 1:1, and teacher PD to create an award-winning program. And that's not all you'll see!
Not only districts, but individual teachers can make 1:1 happen as well. Learn from Veronica Tadeo as she explains how 1:1 works in her largely EL middle school class in Santa Maria, California.
You'll also gain insight from these and other leaders in edtech implementation about the processes and practices that set the stage for success. And you'll get a few inspiring nuggets of what it was that led you to the profession in the first place. You'll be inspired by these schools' belief in youth as they build the world they'll live in after they leave our classrooms. You can use your AOK project as an opportunity to explore and reflect on 1:1 options for your site or class. Your micro-badge shows you understand the foundations of successful 1:1 programs and how to avoid pitfalls in implementation.
