Full course description
Teachers love rubrics for good reason. They make sense. They're transparent. They empower students. They protect evaluators. And they humanize assessment. But how to assess the "soft" skills so central to 21st century life?
Why, rubrics, of course! This course explores the changing nature of assessment and provides guidance and concrete resources (Guess what? Rubrics!) to support useful, authentic assessment in an evolving educational environment.
You'll enjoy video case studies of schools that are rethinking and reworking assessment, read articles that illuminate the issues and processes that make for meaningful evaluation, and naturally, find rubrics for use by both students and teachers to assess both student and teacher process, progress, and production!
Your AOK options include opportunities to create work you can use with your own students immediately. Double points word score! And the micro-badge you receive when your work is evaluated (according to the rubric, of course) shows you're an exemplar assessor, equipped to reflect achievement in much of what matters most today.
