Full course description
What? You weren’t a computer programmer in your first career? You went into education thinking you were familiar with the content you’d be teaching? Ha! Haha! Ahahahaha! Welcome to the 21st century, Teacher Friend! “Coding” wasn’t even in mainstream vocabulary when most of us were getting our credentials. Now it’s your job to prepare kids for a future we don’t know much about. Except, one thing we do know is that millions of jobs are expected to go unfilled unless our kids learn how to code, and develop the process thinking that underpins it.
Fortunately, coding is a skill and skills can be learned, no matter how long you’ve been at this teaching game. This course includes resources to catch you up on basic coding skills for your own edification, as well as ideas and opportunities to practice introducing, teaching, and integrating coding into project-based learning for your kids. It’s easier than you think.
