iPads in the Classroom - META

Started Jan 6, 2016

Full course description

In Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, the double agent working with Tom Cruise remotely controls an impenetrable security structure with… you guessed it: an iPad. If she can do that, dear Teacher-in-the-Trenches, imagine what you can do in your classroom! Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

This course will take you from complete novice (We start at the very beginning, but you don't have to!) to snazzy swipes and hand gestures to installing and using apps. From there, you'll learn to finesse classroom implementation and make your professional communication easier and more effective. And you'll meet teachers who have led the way and learn how they put these handy little devices to best use. After all that, it's just a hop, skip, and a jump to closing achievement gaps and saving the world!

Along the way, you'll have fun. It is after all, an iPad; toddlers use them for play. We think you'll enjoy this course, and we know you'll love the engagement you see in your students when you integrate iPads into your 21st century learning environment. As usual, you can choose an Assessment of Knowledge (AOK) project that results in you creating new curriculum you can use with your students, you get the course badge, they get the benefit of your learning right away!

District approval for university credit is recommended before enrolling as tuition is non-refundable. The University of the Pacific does not guarantee units will be accepted by any entity.
